Welcome to TONY CULHANE RACING.

Tony is a former professional jockey with a highly successful career – riding almost 2,000 winners in 6 different countries. His famous successes include the Ayr Gold Cup, the Northumberland Plate and many group and listed winners. 

With such a great heritage in horse racing, Tony knows a good horse when he see’s one. Tony and his wife Bev have enjoyed a superb first year owning horses together, having had 7 winner and 8 placings with their horses Mighty Power, Papa Cocktail & Cloch Nua since May 2022. They also run a successful syndicate for Basholo who has won and been placed on 5 occasions.

As a result of this success, Tony has now decided to expand his operation by offering new syndicates and making them available to all racing fans to enjoy and be a part of.

Tony rides out each horse every day which gives him and every syndicate member a unique, professional and very personal insight into a horses well-being. This enables Tony and his team to offer successful syndicates with a personal touch. It’s not quite from the horses mouth but it’s as good as!

Meet – CLOCH NUA

CLOCH NUA is a 4-year-old gelding by top-class sprinter and Champion Australian sire, EXCEED AND EXCEL and is trained by STELLA BARCLAY (Garstang, Lancs).

CLOCH NUA had a great 2022 with 2 wins and multiple places, resulting in him collecting a 5K bonus for finishing 3rd in the All Weather Championships for the month of November.

He’s had a break in preparation for the 2023 turf season.  Cloch finished a close 3rd at Wetherby in May followed up with a 2nd at Carlisle in June both over a mile.

Cloch loves fast ground and ideally a strong pace to run at, his regular jockey Sam James is of the option a 1mile 2 furlongs with be well in his compass, which will open up more options going forward.

He’s a tough, genuine horse who takes his races well, so after the turf we will continue on the all weather.
